NEVC Announces Athlete of the Week honorees (Week Ending 1/21/24)

Smithfield, R.I.- The New England Volleyball Conference (NEVC) has announced its Athlete of the Week honorees for the week ending 1/21/24.  The honorees are below.

Athlete of the Week

Jacob Zarges (Jr., OPP), Eastern Nazarene College

Junior Jacob Zarges (Quincy, Mass.) led the Lions to a 3-0 start on the season, totaling 22 kills (2.44 per set) and hitting at a .500 clip. The oposite hitter tacked on 16 digs, 14 assists, and 11 service aces.

Rookie of the Week

Dylan Fox (Fr., OH), Russell Sage College

Freshman Dylan Fox (Albany, N.Y.) registered 33 kills, averaging 4.13 per set, over two matches for the Gators. The outside hitter totaled five aces, 11 digs, three blocks, and two assists across the pair of matches.

The NEVC is a NCAA Division III single-sport conference sponsoring the sport of men’s volleyball. The conference is comprised of eight institutions, Bard College, Eastern Nazarene College, Endicott College, Nichols College, Northern Vermont University – Johnson, SUNY Polytechnic Institute, SUNY Potsdam and Russell Sage College.
