NEVC Announces Athlete of the Week Honorees (Week Ending 3/24)

Smithfield, R.I.- The New England Volleyball Conference (NEVC) has announced its Athlete of the Week honorees for the week ending 3/24/24.  The full list of honorees can be found below.

Athlete of the Week 

Alejandro Garcia Fernandez (Sr., OH), Eastern Nazarene College 

Senior Alejandro Garcia Fernandez (San Juan, Puerto Rico) averaged 5.29 kills per set in a 1-1 week for the Lions. He tallied 21 kills in a loss at Rivier, before posting 16 kills on .357 hitting in a win over conference foe Bard. He tacked on 12 digs, 6 assists, four service aces and one block over two matches. 

Rookie of the Week 

Dylan Fox (Fr., OH), Russell Sage College 

Freshman Dylan Fox (Albany, N.Y.) tallied 31 kills, 3.10 per-set, on .207 hitting, 13 digs, six total blocks, two aces, and two assists across three matches last week.

About the NEVC 

The NEVC is a NCAA Division III single-sport conference sponsoring the sport of men’s volleyball. The conference is comprised of eight institutions, Bard College, Eastern Nazarene College, Endicott College, Nichols College, Northern Vermont University – Johnson, SUNY Polytechnic Institute, SUNY Potsdam and Russell Sage College.
