Nichols Claims At-Large Bid into NCAA Tournament
DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College men's volleyball program will be making their first ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Tournament, in only their sixth season as a program.
The Bison, fresh off their second consecutive New England Volleyball Conference (NEVC) Championship title, will be heading to host Wentworth Institute of Technology (30-1, 13-1 GNAC). Nichols will be facing Vassar College (23-7, 6-1 Liberty) in the opening round.
The 16-team tournament begins on Friday, April 19th with game times yet to be determined. Nichols earned their spot in the tournament as one-of-five at large bids, and is also the first team in Nichols College history to enter the NCAA tournament via an at-large bid.
In addition to winning the 2024 conference title, the Bison finished out the year with their winningest record in program history (24-4), along with a perfect 7-0 mark in conference play throughout the regular season.
About the NEVC
The NEVC is a NCAA Division III single-sport conference sponsoring the sport of men’s volleyball. The conference is comprised of eight institutions, Bard College, Eastern Nazarene College, Endicott College, Nichols College, Northern Vermont University – Johnson, SUNY Polytechnic Institute, SUNY Potsdam and Russell Sage College.
