Nichols Moves Up to No. 15 in the AVCA National Poll
DUDLEY, Mass.– The Nichols College men's volleyball program has jumped ahead in the national rankings at No. 15 in the AVCA/NVA Division III Top 20 poll, announced Tuesday.
For the Bison, it is their highest national ranking in program history having previously held the No. 19 position on two occasions.
Over the weekend, the Bison went four-for-four in their matchups at the Cougar Kickoff Classic, hosted by now No. 16 Misericordia University. On day one, the Bison defeated Elmira College in straight sets, 3-0, and then won against the host Cougars by a 3-1 final score. On the final day of the tournament, Nichols also opened with a sweep against New Jersey City, 3-0, and then battled back for a reverse-sweep against Rutgers-Newark, 3-2. In addition to earning tournament champion honors, graduate outside hitter Jack Normandin was crowned the tournament's Most Valuable Player, and also the New England Volleyball Conference's (NEVC) Player of the Week.

The NEVC is a NCAA Division III single-sport conference sponsoring the sport of men’s volleyball. The conference is comprised of eight institutions, Bard College, Eastern Nazarene College, Endicott College, Nichols College, Northern Vermont University – Johnson, SUNY Polytechnic Institute, SUNY Potsdam and Russell Sage College.
