Nichols Enters AVCA National Poll at No. 19
DUDLEY, Mass. – The Nichols College men's volleyball program has stepped out onto the national stage, ranking No. 19 on the most recent American Volleyball Coaches Association's (AVCA) Division III national rankings, announced Tuesday.
The announcement marks just the second time the program has been nationally ranked in its history, and the first time since March of 2023.
With just over two weeks gone this season, the Bison have compiled a 6-1 overall record along with a 1-0 mark in New England Volleyball Conference (NEVC) play. Nichols opened its season at the SUNY-Potsdam Jamboree, where they swept the competition with a 3-1 win over Hobart College, and 3-0 sweeps over Wells College and SUNY-Potsdam. This past weekend, the Bison continued their hot start at the inaugural Fenway Volleyball Classic with a straight-sets win over No. 13 SUNY-New Paltz, while also collecting wins over Emmanuel College (3-0) and Baruch College (3-1).
About the NEVC
The NEVC is a NCAA Division III single-sport conference sponsoring the sport of men’s volleyball. The conference is comprised of eight institutions, Bard College, Eastern Nazarene College, Endicott College, Nichols College, Northern Vermont University – Johnson, SUNY Polytechnic Institute, SUNY Potsdam and Russell Sage College.
