NEVC Announces Athlete of the Week Honorees (Week Ending 1/19/25)
Smithfield, R.I.- The New England Volleyball Conference (NEVC) has announced its Athlete of the Week honorees for the week ending 1/19/25. The full list of honorees can be found below.
Athlete of the Week
Duncan Tenhagen (Jr., OH), SUNY Potsdam
Junior Duncan Tenhagen (Buffalo, N.Y.) hit .324 and posted 32 kills, 16 digs and three blocks in a sweep of Manhattanville and Wilkes on Saturday to open the season. In a 3-2 win over the Valiants, the outside hitter had 10 kills and nine digs. In another 3-2 win over the Colonels, Tenhagen hit .462 and had 22 kills, seven digs and two blocks.
Rookie of the Week
Christopher Wong (Fr., D), SUNY Potsdam
Freshman Christopher Wong (Elmont, N.Y.) had 15 blocks, 11 kills and two aces in helping the Bears to a 2-0 start to the season on Saturday. In his first collegiate contest, a 3-2 win at Manhattanville, Wong tied the program's single-game blocks record with 10, which was the most in DIII in a five set match this season. He also recorded seven kills. In a 3-2 win over Wilkes, Wong had five more blocks and four kills.
