Leominster, Mass. - The New England Volleyball Conference (NEVC) has announced its Athlete of the Week honorees for the week ending 3/8/26. The full list of honorees can be found below.
Athlete of the Week
Evan Sachs (Jr., S), Nichols
Nichols College junior setter Evan Sachs delivered a historic performance in a five-set comeback victory over SUNY Potsdam, finishing with 58 assists (11.6 per set) while directing the Bison offense. His performance set a new Nichols single-match record for assists and helped power a record-setting offensive night for the program.
Behind Sachs’ orchestrating, Nichols produced 62 total assists and 65 kills, both new program records, as the Bison erased a 2–0 deficit to complete the comeback victory. Sachs consistently controlled the tempo of the match and created scoring opportunities throughout the five-set battle.
In addition to orchestrating the offense, Sachs added six digs, two kills, and a block, contributing defensively while leading one of the most productive offensive performances in program history.
Rookie of the Week
Ethan Norris (Fr., S/RS), Endicott
Norris tallied 3.17 kills per set (19 total), a .389 hitting percentage, 5.00 assists (30), and 1.83 digs (11) in just six sets played (Emmanuel, 3-0; Regis, 3-0).
His best match came against Emmanuel, as the freshman setter/right side notched a career-high 17 kills and a school record .850 hitting percentage (17-0-20).
Norris is the only student-athlete in program history ever to hit .800 or better in a match (minimum 20 attempts).
